View All Guides01What is the difference between carbon and nano-ceramic tint?
Carbon film (XPEL Prime CS) gives a deep, even black look, blocks 99% of UV and rejects up to 35% of infrared heat. Nano-ceramic film (XPEL XR Black and XR Plus) uses ceramic particles that target infrared, rejecting up to 85% and 96%, so the cabin stays noticeably cooler and the view stays clear even in light shades. Both are metal-free and carry a lifetime warranty. Pick carbon for the look and the price, nano-ceramic when heat matters.
02Why XPEL nano-ceramic instead of a cheaper "ceramic" tint?
"Ceramic" is not a regulated term. Many budget films are dyed film with a small amount of ceramic added, and quote their best number under ideal lab conditions. XPEL XR Plus is a multi-layer nano-ceramic film that rejects up to 96% of infrared heat and 99% of UV, is recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation and comes with a transferable lifetime warranty backed by XPEL itself. Before you compare prices, ask any shop for the brand, the film line and the spec sheet.
03Does a darker tint keep the car cooler?
Not by itself. Most of the heat you feel is infrared light, and darkness only changes the look and the privacy. A light XR Plus film can keep a car cooler than a dark budget film, which is why we can keep your front windows legal and still cut the heat.
04PPF or ceramic coating, which one do I need?
They do different jobs. Paint protection film is a physical layer that takes rock chips, scratches and stains, and its top coat heals light marks with heat. Ceramic coating adds deep gloss and makes the car easier to wash, but it does not stop chips. Most of our clients protect the front with XPEL PPF and coat the whole car on top.
05Why XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF over a cheaper film?
Ultimate Plus is self-healing, stain-resistant and non-yellowing, and carries a 10-year warranty from XPEL. We cut it on a plotter from XPEL’s pattern library for your exact model, so no blades touch your paint and the edges are clean. Cheaper films can yellow, peel or leave adhesive behind when they come off.
