Tesla Window Tint: Which Shade and Film to Pick

Start With the Glass Roof

Tesla roofs let in a lot of sun. Many owners get the most comfort from a ceramic film on the roof first, then match the sides and rear.

Pick a Shade You Can Live With

Front side windows in California must stay at 70% VLT or lighter, so most Tesla owners go darker on the rear sides and back glass. Use our tint percentage guide and California Tint Laws before you decide.

Choose Ceramic for Heat

Nano-ceramic film such as XPEL Prime XR Plus rejects far more heat than a dye or carbon film at the same darkness. There is no metal in the film, so GPS, phone signal and Autopilot sensors are not affected.

Install Time and Warranty

A full Tesla tint usually takes 2 to 3 hours at our North Hollywood studio. Our install does not void the Tesla warranty, and the film carries a lifetime warranty. Tesla lists Autograff on its website as an XPEL installer.
