What Full Front and Full Body Cover
A Full Front covers the full hood, front fenders, front bumper, mirrors and headlights. These are the panels that take rock chips and gravel on the 101, the 405 and the 5, and it is our most popular package.
A Full Body covers every painted panel: everything in the Full Front plus the doors, rear quarters, roof rails and pillars, the trunk or tailgate and the rear bumper. Some original paint may stay visible at edges, corners and door jambs. Our Full Front vs Full Body guide walks through which one fits how you drive.
What Each Film Gets You
- Ultimate Plus is XPEL's best-selling film. It is clear, glossy and nearly invisible, with a self-healing top coat that makes light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat from the sun or warm water.
- Stealth has a satin finish. It turns gloss paint into a factory-matte look, or protects satin and matte paint without adding shine.
- Ultimate Fusion is clear, glossy XPEL film with a hydrophobic top coat built in, so water beads and rolls off the film.
- Color PPF comes in 16 colors, gloss and satin. It is 8 mil thick against 3 to 4 mil for a vinyl wrap, self-heals and is fully removable.
All four resist yellowing and stains. See them side by side on our paint protection film page.
Why PPF Quotes in Los Angeles Vary So Much
If you call several shops for the same car, the numbers can be far apart. Most of that gap comes from a few things:
- What "front" means. Some quotes cover a partial hood and partial fenders, which leaves a visible film line across the panel. Our Full Front covers the full hood and full fenders. Ask every shop exactly which panels and how much of each.
- The film. Brand and line matter. Ask for the exact film name and the warranty in writing.
- Cut and edges. Ultimate Plus is cut from vehicle-specific patterns, so the film fits without cutting near your paint, and edges are wrapped wherever the panel allows.
- Where the work is done. PPF needs a clean, closed space. Dust trapped under the film stays there. We do no mobile installs.
Is Full Body Worth $4,000 More?
For a daily driver that spends its time on the freeway, a Full Front covers the panels that take most of the damage, and it is where most owners start. Full Body makes more sense for a new car you plan to keep for years, for satin or matte paint that cannot be polished, and for cars where resale value depends on original paint. PPF costs less than repainting and keeps the original factory paint under the film.
If you want satin, Stealth over gloss paint changes the look of the whole car, so it is usually done as a Full Body. Color PPF is the same: it changes the color of every panel, so it is a full body job.
Add-Ons That Change the Total
- Windshield protection film: $600. A clear film made for glass that helps against chips and pitting.
- Ceramic coating over PPF: $1,000 for our Paint & PPF package. XPEL Fusion Plus over the film makes the car easier to wash and does not void the PPF warranty. More in PPF vs Ceramic Coating.
- Old film removal: if the car already has PPF that is yellowed or peeling, removal is added to the quote.
Teslas and Other EVs
Most Teslas pick up their damage on the front of the car: the bumper, hood and mirrors. A Full Front is where most Tesla owners start. XPEL installation does not affect your Tesla warranty. See our Tesla PPF page for coverage options.
