Choose XR Black If
- You want real nano-ceramic heat control at a lower price.
- The car is parked in a garage or shade most of the day.
- You mainly want the look, privacy and UV protection.
Choose XR Plus If
- The car sits in the sun at work, at school pickup or in open lots.
- You drive an EV and want the A/C to work less.
- You plan a light windshield film and want the most heat cut at a light shade.
- You want the film recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation.
Shade Does Not Change Heat Rejection
With XPEL nano-ceramic, the infrared heat rejection is the same at 70% as at 5%. Darkness changes privacy and look. That is why a light XR Plus windshield can still make a big difference in the summer. See our tint percentage guide to compare shades.
