The Short Answer
At Autograff, a Tesla Model 3 with XPEL nano-ceramic tint on all side windows and the Rear Window is $680 in XR Black or $850 in XR Plus. Add the windshield and the whole car is $979 or $1,249. Every shade is the same price, so going from 35% to 5% on the rear never changes the quote.

Buying Window by Window
Not every owner wants the full package. Some only want the front doors done to match the rear, others only want the Rear Window darker. These are the single-area prices on a Model 3:
- Front side windows: $225 in XR Black, $275 in XR Plus.
- Rear side windows and Rear Window: $525 or $675.
- Rear Window only: $325 or $425.
- Front side windows and windshield: $524 or $674.
For most cars the full package is the better value, since the side windows and Rear Window together cost less than buying the pieces one at a time.
Why the Model 3 Costs More Than a Model Y
Many people expect the smaller car to be cheaper. For the side windows and Rear Window it is the other way around, and the Rear Window is the reason.

The Model 3 Rear Window is a large, strongly curved piece of glass. It takes more film and more time to shrink and fit cleanly. The roof goes the other way: the Model Y roof is one very large panel, while the Model 3 roof film is $280. XR Black or XR Plus on a Model 3
Both are XPEL nano-ceramic films with 99% UV protection and no effect on phone, GPS or key signals. The difference is heat. XR Black rejects up to 85% of infrared heat, XR Plus up to 96%. On a Model 3 the gap is $170 for sides and Rear Window, or $270 with the windshield.
XR Plus makes the most sense if the car is parked in the sun all day, if you want a light windshield film that still cuts heat, or if you drive long stretches on the 101 and the 5 in the summer. If the car lives in a garage, XR Black covers most needs. The full comparison is in XR Black vs XR Plus.
Choosing a Shade
Shade is about look and privacy, not heat. Nano-ceramic film rejects the same infrared heat at 70% as at 5%. In California the front side windows have legal limits, while the rear side windows and Rear Window can go darker. We stay general here, so read our California window tint laws page before you decide, and ask us at the studio to see shades on real glass.
How Long It Takes
A Model 3 tint takes 2 to 3 hours at our North Hollywood studio, about 3 hours with the roof. You can wait in the lounge or drop the car off. If the car already has old film that is peeling or purple, removal is added to the quote and adds up to an hour. On the Rear Window we use a steamer so the defroster lines stay intact.
What Is Not in the Price
- Sales tax. All prices above are before tax.
- Old tint removal. Only when the car already has film.
There is no upcharge for a darker or lighter shade. The price is the same from 5% to 70%.
