01The Panoramic Windshield
The Model X windshield is one large panoramic piece of glass that reaches up over the front seats, so a lot of sun comes in through it. A nearly clear nano-ceramic film cuts infrared heat without changing the view: $729 in XR Black or $899 in XR Plus.
02Falcon-Wing Door Windows
The rear falcon-wing doors have their own windows. They are tinted together with every other side window and the Rear Window, all in the $560 / $700 price.
03Windshield and the Law
California allows a non-reflective strip on the top 4 inches of the windshield; ask us about clear windshield film. See California tint laws for every window.
04Legal Shades
Front side windows must let at least 70% of light through. Rear side windows, the falcon-wing door windows and the Rear Window can be any darkness, since the Model X has both side mirrors.
05XR Black or XR Plus
Both are nano-ceramic with 99% UV protection and no metal, so phone, GPS and key signals work normally. XR Plus rejects up to 96% of infrared heat against 85% for XR Black, for $140 more on sides and Rear Window. Compare in XR Black vs XR Plus.
06Your Tesla Warranty
Installing film does not void the Tesla warranty. Tesla lists Autograff on its website as an XPEL installer, and every Model X is tinted by XPEL-certified installers. Adding paint protection? See Tesla PPF: Model X Wear & Tear package $550, rocker panels $600, Full Front and Full Body quoted per car.
