The Short Answer
At Autograff, a Cybertruck with XPEL nano-ceramic tint on all side windows and the Rear Window is $560 in XR Black or $700 in XR Plus. Add the windshield and the whole truck is $1,289 or $1,599. The glass roof is $460 or $575 on top of that.
Every shade costs the same, so choosing 70% or 5% never changes the price. Prices are before sales tax.
Prices by Window
Most owners do the side windows and the Rear Window first, then decide on the windshield and roof. Here is the full Cybertruck price list from our shop.
| Coverage | XR Black | XR Plus |
|---|---|---|
| All side windows + Rear Window | $560 | $700 |
| Front door windows only | $325 | $375 |
| Rear doors and Rear Window | $450 | $550 |
| Windshield | $729 | $899 |
| Front door windows + windshield | $1,054 | $1,274 |
| Glass roof | $460 | $575 |
The Cybertruck shares its side window, Rear Window and windshield prices with the Model X. Only the roof is different: $460 or $575 on the Cybertruck against $280 or $350 on a Model X.
The Side Windows and Rear Window
This is where most of the privacy and the daily comfort come from. The front door windows sit right next to you, so they matter most for heat on your arms and face on a long drive across the Valley.
The Rear Window behind the cab is done in the same visit. It is a good place for a darker shade, since it adds privacy for whatever you carry in the back seat.
The Windshield
The Cybertruck windshield is a large piece of glass, and that is why it costs more than on a Model Y. It is also where a lot of the heat comes in during summer.
For heat, owners usually ask about a nearly clear nano-ceramic film. It cuts infrared heat without changing the view much. California rules for the windshield are strict, so read our California window tint laws page and ask us before you choose a shade.
The Glass Roof
The roof is the other big source of heat, especially if the truck is parked outside in Burbank or Van Nuys all afternoon. Roof film comes in any shade, from nearly clear to dark, and is $460 in XR Black or $575 in XR Plus.
Darker roof film also cuts glare in the cabin. Our guide to tinting the Tesla glass roof covers how each shade looks from inside.
XR Black or XR Plus
Both are XPEL nano-ceramic films with 99% UV protection and no metal, so phone, GPS and key signals work normally. The difference is infrared heat rejection.
| Feature | XR Black | XR Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Infrared heat rejection | Up to 85% | Up to 96% |
| UV protection | 99% | 99% |
| Sides + Rear Window | $560 | $700 |
| Warranty | Lifetime | Lifetime |
On the side windows and Rear Window, XR Plus is $140 more. On the windshield it is $170 more, and on the roof $115 more. Since the windshield and roof let in the most sun, some owners choose XR Plus there and XR Black on the sides. See the full comparison in XR Black vs XR Plus.
Shade and the Law
In California the front side windows must stay light. The rear side windows and the Rear Window can be darker on a vehicle with both side mirrors, which the Cybertruck has. The exact rules are on our tint laws page.
A common setup is a light film on the front doors and a darker shade on the rear doors and Rear Window. Because nano-ceramic film rejects heat through the film itself, a light shade still blocks the same infrared heat as a dark one.
Time, Warranty and Old Film
Side windows and the Rear Window take 2 to 3 hours at our North Hollywood studio. The windshield or roof adds time, and we confirm the total when you book. Every truck is done inside the studio, never as a mobile job.
Installing film does not void the Tesla warranty, and XPEL film has its own lifetime warranty that transfers with the truck. Tesla lists Autograff on its website as an XPEL installer.
If a used Cybertruck already has film that is peeling or purple, removal is added to the quote.
