The Short Answer
On a Rivian R2, the Rear Window and the glass roof are the two pieces of glass owners ask about most. The Rear Window is included in the all-sides tint price: $650 in XR Black or $800 in XR Plus. The glass roof is separate at $550 in XR Black or $600 in XR Plus. Prices are before sales tax.

What Is Special About R2 Glass
The R2 is a midsize SUV built in Normal, Illinois, with deliveries that began in 2026. Its glass is different from most cars we see. The Rear Window drops into the liftgate, the rear quarter windows pop out, and a large glass roof sits over the cabin.
Each of those pieces is priced on the Rivian list, so there is no guessing at the counter. The pop-out quarter windows are part of the side window price, not an extra. The full R2 breakdown is on our Rivian R2 tint page.
The Rear Window Price
On the R2 price list the Rear Window comes with the rear side windows in one line, and with the front sides in the all-sides package.

If privacy in the back matters more than the front, the rear package at $450 or $550 covers the rear sides and the Rear Window. Front sides are $200 or $250 on top of that, which brings you to the same all-sides price.
The Glass Roof
The roof is the biggest single pane overhead, and in Valley sun it is where a lot of the afternoon heat comes in. Roof film is $550 in XR Black or $600 in XR Plus, in any shade from nearly clear to dark. Every shade costs the same.
Both films are nano-ceramic with no metal, so phone key, GPS and radio signals work normally. XR Black rejects up to 85% of infrared heat and XR Plus up to 96%. Both block 99% of UV.
XR Black or XR Plus on the Roof
The roof gap is $50. For a car that parks outside at work or at a trailhead, that is a small step up for the higher heat rejection. If the car sleeps in a garage and you mostly want a cooler cabin and less glare, XR Black does that well. Our XR Black vs XR Plus comparison goes through the difference.
How the Visit Goes
Window tint is a wait-in job in our lounge at 7067 Vineland Ave. Mention the roof when you book so we can plan the time together. We do not offer loaner cars, and every install is done inside the studio.
What Is Legal
In California the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through. The rear side windows and the Rear Window can be darker on a car with both side mirrors. Roof film is not a front-window question, but we keep the rules general here. The window-by-window details are on our California tint laws page.
Adding the Windshield and Paint
Windshield tint on the R2 is $299 in XR Black or $399 in XR Plus. A common order is the side windows and Rear Window first, then the roof, then clear PPF on the front of the car. Ultimate Plus PPF starts from $2,000 for a Full Front, an approximate starting price that depends on coverage.

Warranty
XPEL says products installed through its Rivian program won't impact the Rivian New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The film carries its own XPEL warranty: lifetime for window tint.
